If you know me at all, you already know I despise flist cuts. But sometimes they're necessary, especially when I find myself doing a lot of scrolling and not a lot of reading. It's absolutely nothing personal if you've been cut, it's just that I don't know how much we have in common anymore. There were some people that I couldn't remember the last time I'd exchanged comments with. Anyway, I'm fairly easygoing. If one of you was cut and really misses being able to read my entries (doubtful!), just let me know.

I have had this song in my head since Wednesday's So You Think You Can Dance. IT IS GETTING TIRESOME. Great song, but...yeah.

Narnia fandom, Susan/Caspian should never, ever, EVER be referred to as "Casue". Why the smushed pairing names. Whyyyyyy. This also goes for: Jate, Skate, LoVe, Semperance, Starpollo, Bedward, Jam, Man (SERIOUSLY. THERE IS A SHIP REFERRED TO AS "MAN". Are the shippers called "Mankind?" Just wondering.) The only smushed pairing name I am willing to accept is Naley, and that is because it was bestowed IN CANON by Brooke Davis, and she is awesome.

And you know? Not only do smushed pairing names annoy me to high heavens, I've actually seen people have srs bsns discussions about what their ship's smushed pairing name should be. And then they get distressed if something isn't readily available. Because heaven knows calling Edward/Bella, oh, "Edward/Bella" or "E/B" is INFINITELY INFERIOR to "Bedward". OR SUSAN/CASPIAN --> CASUE.

Oh, fandom. I want to love you. Why do you make it so hard?

Using my Robin/Marian icon because I haven't seen anyone calling them "Robian" yet. Or if I have, I've seriously repressed that particular memory.

This is not meant to be favoritism (except in the case of sainfoin_fields who is my Tris and likes many things I like and thus gets a gazillion icons), it's just that in some cases I had a hard time finding caps or a lack of inspiration. (Like, sorry to everyone who requested Booth/Brennan, because those icons majorly fail. Seriously, if any of you guys want an icon do-over, I totally understand.) Anyway. This probably goes without saying, but icons aren't shareable to anyone but the person who requested them. If you see one you like, ask that person if they're willing to share.

So, I actually made it to church this morning, which is good. But I spent half the sermon daydreaming about fannish things, which is...not good. I feel that is the definition of "Christianity: you're doing it wrong."

Anyway. So, as you all know, there's this couple on this show called Battlestar Galactica that I kind of like. Y'know, just a passing fancy. And/or a three-years-running obsession, take your pick. Heh. Their names are Lee Adama and Kara Thrace, and they love each other a lot. And I love them a lot for it! I've contemplated doing a mix for them several times, but it never came together until today, when everything happened really fast. I've used a lot of these songs in K/L things before (vids, wallpapers, etc.) so this might be retreading old ground, but I really wanted to do a comprehensive mix that puts together everything that I love about them. The music choices may seem lame to some (Tris, there's at least one song on here that I know you hate), but they all speak to that section of my heart that has loved pilots since I first watched the miniseries. So this is more or less a labor of love.

I decided to just do a zip file and not upload individual songs, but if you want one, feel free to request it and I'd be happy to upload it. Most files are .mp3, with the exception of two (marked with *) that are .m4a. And fair warning, there are spoilers through the most recent episode, "Six Of One".

I have no confidence whatsoever that I can watch 100 new movies in 2008, so that's out. But I figured it would be good to keep track, so I'll try and update this whenever I watch something new. I'll probably do a similar post for books once I actually, y'know, finish a book. Yes, it's true, I haven't finished a book since 2007. I suck.

So, erries made a post this morning asking for music recommendations, specifically upbeat music that is good for working out. I was going to rec just a few off my (aptly named) "move your ass" playlist, but then I kept looking through my iTunes going "oh! that one's good. and that one! that one, too!" So I decided to make a zip of several songs. 5 hours later, we have FOUR zips, of about 70 songs total. Yikes, self.

Anyway. Most of the songs are in mp3 format, although there are several in m4a. I apologize for that, but I have no idea how to convert them. All the zips are uploaded to Sendspace. If you see an individual song (or songs) that you would like uploaded, let me know. And enjoy!
